Speech Therapy Marin

Fast ForWord Program

Fast-ForWord

Kris Langley, SLP, is a licensed provider of Fast ForWord software at Speech Therapy Marin.  Fast ForWord is a web based software program developed by leading scientists to support children who struggle with auditory processing, attention, language and reading delays and disorders.  It was created in 1997 and has programs to support the development of cognitive, language and reading skills in children of all ages–elementary through high school.

The software is acoustically modified and amplifies the speech signal in order to support the child in acquiring the missing skills.  The program automatically and continuously adjusts to the child’s skill level as they improve, and the complexity increases.  The program is an intensive learning format of 5 days/week for 30 min/day (minimum) that is meant to work in conjunction with speech therapy services.  It can be played on a variety of devices: desktop, laptop or iPad. The initial phone consultation and visit can determine if Fast ForWord is right for your child.
